Decolonial Ecofeminism - Sacrifice Zones Across the Globe and Creating Alternatives (Living Utopia)

A moment of reflection on decolonial ecofeminism. This workshop is divided into two parts, beginning with a theoretical exploration of sacrifice zones in Latin America and Southern Italy (linking geographical points across the globe) with a focus on extractivism and the need to overcome the western environmental rationality based on the natural / cultural divide. The second part of the workshop will introduces a moment of situated practice through an imaginative engagement with the local environment, as a practice to challenge our epistemology. The objective is to create moments of collective reflection on our understanding of reality, planting the seeds of an alternative approach to the dominant discourse.

Banner Drop Training (Activist Toolkit)

We will look at the knots and rope techniques that can be useful for a banner drop. We will also discuss various forms of action and the fundamental precautions to take in order to make a banner drop as safe as possible.

Governing a Changing Climate: From Local to Global

What is the current state of climate change policies? Over the past year, we have witnessed a slowdown in international negotiations, but also a desire for civil society to take a leading role, at Blém, and a search for alternative paths, at the Santa Marta Conference. In the context of great international instability, the need to rebuild new forms of multilateralism from the bottom up, capable of coordinating different levels of government, emerges. How do our relationships (friendships, biological bonds, etc.) define the physical space of the home, and vice versa, how does space shape human relationships? If we reconfigure living from a collective perspective, can we reduce the ecological impact of our homes? The workshop offers a reflection on the connection between relationships, home, and the planet, with a moment of group imagination and a final feedback circle.

What does waste incineration mean for CO₂ emissions, and what role does recycling play in reducing them? An informed session combining facts with open dialogue with participants.

Beyond Boycott – Building Alternative Economies (Activist Toolkit)

How can we build alternative economies and avoid being part of the war economy — in our work and everyday lives? Let's see the many aspects of our everyday life apart from the purchases we make and try to define different levels of activism from entry level to change maker. An open discussion exploring concrete strategies that go beyond boycott.

Prefigurative Workshop – Access, Governance and Product Choice in Food Coops (Living Utopia)

Edera is a group of people who share common values: critical and responsible consumption, environmental, social, and economic sustainability, and participatory community processes. From these values, Edera, a community emporium, was born: a collaborative supermarket where members decide what to find on the shelves. Not just a store, but a space where shopping means supporting the local community and providing a concrete alternative to large-scale retail trade, accessible to all. But how can we actually do it? It's a challenge we face every day. The workshop puts this question in the hands of participants: three challenges regarding food accessibility, product choice, and internal governance. In small groups, they will have to make real decisions, with the tensions that entail, and share them in plenary. We're not looking for the right answer, but rather a shared way to reimagine food access in the city.

MEDAGLIA is a new singer-songwriter project based in Trento. It was born from the musical ideas of Francesco Medaglia and the various musicians he collaborates with. A music where distant people and cities intertwine with a songwriting style with intimate and dreamy overtones, but also funk and alt-rock. MEDAGLIA brings to the stage songs that tell the story of lives both lived and imagined, starting from the foothills of the Alps and ending at the seaside.
